As a result of Amended Substitute Senate Bill 1, the State Board of Education has adopted academic content standards in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.
These standards have established a set of common expectations for what all students should know and be able to do upon completion of high school. Additionally, standards are in the process of being developed for the arts, foreign languages and technology.
