I will be the school counselor at Big Creek Elementary through December and have had a wonderful experience so far.  The Big Creek community of staff, students, and families have given me a very warm welcome!

I attended Bowling Green State University and received a degree in Human Development and Family Studies.  I then continued my education at Cleveland State University and graduated in May 2011 with a Master's in School Counseling.  Although this is my first year as a school counselor, I have interned in the Berea City School District since spring of 2010.  I look forward to a wonderful year!

About Your School Counselor
Mrs. Catino graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and completed my Master's in School Counseling at Cleveland State University. This is my eighth year with Berea City Schools, the fourth as a school counselor. Prior to that, I taught at a private school for 4 years. I live in Parma with my husband, two daughters and a very naughty dog!
FOR PARENTS
School Counselors have the opportunity to be in contact with students in different ways including classroom guidance lessons, small group counselingand individual counseling.  Counselors are available to parents to provide consultation and/or referrals if necessary. Please feel free to contact your school counselor with any questions or concerns about your child or the school counseling program.
 
Students may be referred to me in several ways:
  • Parent Request
  • Staff Member Referral
  • Student Self-Referral (request forms are in an envelope on the bulletin board outside the office.)
  • Counselor Invititation
FOR STUDENTS
*If you need to see me, fill out a request form located in an envelope on the bulletin board outside my door or tell your teacher you would like to speak to me.
 
*Miss Brickman and Mrs. Catino have lunch dates available. Stop into my office to sign up on the board for an individual lunch or a lunch bunch with up to two friends!
