Builders Club meets this Thursday, February 16th, 7:45-8:15AM in Room 212.
Wellness and Mindfulness Club will introduce a variety of holistic approaches to broaden student awareness and wellbeing. Students will study the basics of meditation, Reiki, mindfulness, aromatherapy and positive thinking. Students will learn to boost their mood and interest in health, to be more open-minded, to focus better, to be less stressful or anxious, and to be healthier, more positive and feel better. SPACE IS LIMITED - permission forms to join are in the main office. If you have any questions see Miss Bodnar. The Club starts on Thursday, March 2nd, 3:30-4:30PM in Miss Bodnar's Room 101.

Scholastic Book Fair Begins 2/27
The Scholastic Book Fair returns to FIS beginning Feb. 27- March 7 with Special Family Shopping Night on Tuesday, February 28th from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. With this book fair, we hope to put an additional 1400 books in the hands of our students and make our sales goal of $7000. Information will be coming home shortly with your student! The 15 finalist of the Geography Bee will be competing today in Room 201. Please bring your lunch with you. The school-wide winner will take a written test to try to qualify for the State level Bee in Columbus. Good luck to all of you!

The results are in for the door decorating contest winners; while the decision was tough the judges have made their final choices. Thank you to all who participated. Honorable mention winners are Room 904 Extended Care; 204 Mrs. Holt; 206 Mr. Carman; and 212 Mrs. Klooz. The top 3 winners are, in 3rd place, Room 853 Mrs. Brandt; in 2nd place, Room 306 Mrs. Miu; and our 1st place winner of the door decorating contest is...Room 302 Mrs. Musial. Congratulations to everyone who participated - we have some very creative students and staff members who helped brighten up our hallways!

Attention all students: are you interested in joining Computer Club? During Computer Club you may use the computers for classwork, personal use or to play a variety of games. You can try your hand at coding or create a web page. We will meet in Rooms 840 & 754 from 3:20-4:20PM every Wednesday, beginning January 4, 2017! If you are interested in joining, please see your computer teacher for an information sheet and permission slip. The permission slip must be returned to Ms. Sveda or Ms. Ottinger before the first day of the Club.

Congratulations to the 5th & 6th graders who participated in the Young Astronaut's Day at NASA on Saturday. Mrs. Jennings if proud of your team effort and tenacious work! Students did a great job of problem-solving and won first place in a virtual rocket launch event!

The countdown to the Scholastic Book Fair begins with its arrival in just 5 short days. The Book Fair will be here at Ford Intermediate School starting Monday, October 24th through Monday, October 31st during the school day with extended hours on both conference nights until 7:30PM. Don't forget to ask your English teacher what day your class is scheduled to visit the Fair. Students may also visit the Fair with their families during conference nights, before and/or after school and during their team time.
Attention all students: Student Council is looking for students interested in joining Student Council this year. We meet in the morning at 7:55AM in Room 850. We plan school events, promote fundraisers, and recycle. Please consider joining us on Tuesday, October 25th for our first meeting. A list of future meeting dates will be provided at the meeting. Today is "Stand up to Bullying Day." If you are wearing orange, you are among the thousands across the country united to bring an end to bullying. In celebration of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, today starts our Spirit Week and it's Cape Day! Find the superhero within and display your cape. Be creative - anything can be used as a cape (towel, flannel shirt, hoodie) - whatever! Tuesday, October 18th is Partner in Crime Day! Find a "twin" and dress alike! You can even go the extra mile and both dress with the same superhero shirt! Wednesday, October 19th is Stand up to Bullying Day! Wear orange on this day and unite with thousands of others who will also be wearing orange to support the end to bullying! Thursday, October 20th is Camouflage Day! Dig out your military wear and support our "real life" superheroes! And Friday, October 21st is Superhero Day! Choose your favorite superhero and wear his/her costume, clothes or create your own superhero!

Attention All Ford Students: You are invited to this month's TNT meeting on October 5th, that's tomorrow, Wednesday from 3:30-4:30PM. We will be creating some posters for the hallway to support our Stand up to Bullying Week. Please join us! If you missed last month, don't worry, yyou can come tomorrow.
Attention students interested in Mileage Club: Every Monday morning from 7:45-8:15AM, students who join Mileage Club will wear pedometers to track their steps as they walk or jog the gym. The more steps you get the more "toe tokens" you collect! Pick up a permission slip in the gym or the main office to join one of Ford's most popular clubs! See Miss Audie with questions. The first day is October 17th.

- Auditions for "Into the Woods, Jr." will be held at 4:00PM today in the Auditorium. You must have already turned in your intent to audition and permission form to attend these auditions.
- Calling all Ford Superheroes! Are you interested in a club where you can make a difference? A club that helps spread kindness all around? If so, TNT needs you! The club will watch fun videos, have snacks, and work on crafts or other projects that help to make our school and community a better place for everyone. Please join us on the first Wednesday of every month from 3:30-4:30PM in the Cafeteria. Make sure you have a ride home. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 7th. PARENTS OF STUDENTS GOING TO CAMP MI-BRO-BE: REMINDER, STUDENTS GOING TO CAMP MUST BRING A PACKED LUNCH FOR LUNCH ON MONDAY.
DROP OFF INSTRUCTIONS:
- Please do not bring your child to school until 8:45AM
- Enter the bus circle and remain with your vehicle until it is unloaded
- If you wish, once unloaded, you may pull out of the circle, park your car and wait with your child until the buses depart.
- Students will return to Ford from Camp at approximately 12:45PM on Friday.
- Cops vs. Kids Free Throw Contest today at the Brook Park Rec., 4:30-7:30PM. Ages 7-9; 10-12; and 13-15. Officer Cos said no registration is necessary, just come on in and enjoy the fun!
- Sunday, September 11th is Patriots' Day. Please take time to remember those who lost their lives on that sad day in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC. This public service announcement has been brought to you by the Builders Club.
- The next Builders Club meeting will be Thursday, Septemer 15, 3:30-4:30 in Room 206. If you enjoyed K-Kids, this is the club for you!
- There is an enrichment activity for Mrs. Jennings 5th graders on Tuesday, September 13, during lunch and teamtime in Room 201. Check in with your teacher, bring your lunch and something to write with.
- Lego Club will begin Tuesday, September 20th. All meetings are in the library from 3:20-4:20PM. You will be using Legos to design and build your own unique creations and will be competing in different challenges as a team. Legos will be supplied but you are allowed to bring in your own Legos to the meetings. Storage will be provided for your Legos. Please ask your parents to be prompt when picking you up in front of the building after the meeting at 4:20PM. Darts for the Club are September 20, October 4 & 18, November 1 & 15, December 1 & 15, January 10 & 17, February 7 & 21, March 7 & 21, April 4 & 17 and May 2. Advisors for the Club are Mrs. Schmuhl, Mrs. Lawson and Mrs. McDonnell.
Tuesday, September 20 - Morning Announcements:
Attention students: Starting this Friday, September 23 during each team time, the library Makerspace is now open. This is a place for you to come and participate in fun and creative activities including building, coloring, electronics and more. See your team time teacher for more information. Participation is limited to 5 students during each team time and each team will decide how to distribute passes. Only students with a Makerspace pass may participate.
Builders Club members who are planning to attend the Kiwanis event next Thursday at Southwest General Hospital should return the permission slip to Ms. Payne in Room 206 by this Friday, September 23.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Wednesday, October 5, 6:30PM in the Ford Intermediate School Cafeteria or you will miss the Parent Ski Club meeting. Join the Club and learn how to ski or snowboard this summer at Brandywine! Transportation, wquipment rentals and lessons are included in your registration fee. Hope to see you and your parents at the meeting!

Student Fee accounts have been updated and are available for review. Please log-in to your Parent Portal account to view your students’ fees posted in Infinite Campus.
For parents that would like to make payments electronically, fees can also be viewed on the PayForIt.net web site once you have created an account and added your students to your account. Credit card and electronic check payments may be processed through PayForIt.
All buildings accept cash and check payments, but cannot process a credit card payment for you on site.
Fees are due within 30 days of October 1st. This includes any past due amounts, instructional fees, first semester class fees and posted fees for upcoming events (i.e. field trips). Accounts with unpaid fees after the due date may be submitted to a collection company for further action.
Since much information is communicated via email, please check your profile information in the Parent Portal and update any changes to your information including adding/changing an email address.
If you have not established an account in the Parent Portal, please contact your school to get information on setting up an account.
