National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in lifeStudents of all abilities are invited to submit an art piece in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts.

Each submission from the Berea City School District is judged locally with a select number of winning pieces submitted to Ohio PTA for state level competition. Those winning at state are then submitted to the National PTA level. Only new and original works inspired by the current theme will be accepted. Enter in 1 or more of the following arts categories.

To allow student artworks to be recognized and judged with the appropriate developmental age and skill levels in mind, the Reflections Program is organized by grade division, offering 5 divisions.

    Primary      (PreK-Grade 2)

    ♦ Intermediate (Grades 3-5)

     ♦ Middle School (Grades 6-8)

    ♦ High School (Grades 9-12)

    ♦ Special Artist (All Grades)

In Spring, the Reflections program comes to a close and we recognize all of our students’ artistic achievements at our Founder's Day Celebration and Awards Ceremony, a fun celebration usually held in February at Berea-Midpark Middle School.

Each student who entered a submission in Reflections and selected to move on to the state level will be invited to the Founder's Day Celebration, along with their families, and recognized with a certificate and pin. Winning students will be mailed an invitation to the celebration in January.
