MARCH 23, 2021
Update on Prom and Commencement:
Due to the updated social distancing requirements, we are now able to allow students to dance at prom and increase our overall attendance capacity. We now have a maximum attendance of 600 students. To achieve this number, we are getting a second room at Michauds, which will be used for social distancing during dinner. All dancing will take place in the grand ballroom. In recent years we have not had over 500 students at prom, so we are able to allow seniors and their dates. This includes both Berea-Midpark underclassmen and outside of our school dates. In the event we have over 600 attendees, we would limit outside of school dates. If this does happen, we would refund the out of school dates their money. Again, we do not think this will be an issue because the venue capacity would be able to historically hold our prom.
All students will be in masks at prom at all times except dinner. This includes while dancing.
We have finalized commencement plans. Commencement will take place on June 2, 2021 at 6:00pm. We will be holding commencement at Byers Field in Parma. Due to limits on seating capacity, based on the current social distancing requirements, each graduate will receive six tickets. If social distancing requirements are altered, we will adjust accordingly.
This is an outdoor event. We will do everything possible to hold the event as scheduled on June 2. We only plan to postpone the event based on severe/unsafe weather conditions. If we are forced to postpone commencement, it will be rescheduled for June 3, 2021 at 6:00pm. If we are forced to postpone on June 3, it will be scheduled for June 4, 2021 at 6:00pm.
* Please note all plans are based on current health department guidelines. If guidelines change, we will adjust our plan accordingly.
