Superintendent's Student Advisory Council (SSAC)
-
The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council is a forum that creates direct communication between the Berea City School District students and the Superintendent. The SSAC is made up of student leaders in grades 8-12. It is the belief of the Superintendent that student voices be heard and to gain input from them with regard to what the BCSD is doing right and what we can improve. Through participation in the SSAC, students will have the opportunity to work alongside our Superintendent, Mrs. Tracy Wheeler, and other District leaders. Being a member of the SSAC provides students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and collaborate alongside a diverse community of peers.
SSAC Expectations:
- Attend all meetings held throughout the school year (minimum of 4)
- Meetings will be held at BMHS in the Professional Development room starting at 7:30 and ending by 9:30. BMMS students will need to provide transportation to the meeting and the District will provide transportation back to BMMS when the meeting is done.
- Act as liaisons between the superintendent and other students by sharing information with classmates
- Maintain a broad understanding of school-related issues
- Engage in meaningful dialogue with the Superintendent with regard to happenings in the Berea City School District
- Maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or better
