    Physical Education Classes – PE Survey


     

         PE Survey classes are a semester long and meet everyday.  Activities include: Football, softball, volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, lacrosse, fitness, golf, Frisbee golf, badminton, pickleball, weight lifting and swimming.  PE Survey students are required to swim for 4 weeks during the semester.

         Fitness is important for everyone.  I encourage good sportsmanship along with competitive play.  Activity is for everybody, so be prepared to dress daily and have an extreme amount of fun in my PE classes. Students will be evaluated on the 6 NASPE standards that have been adopted by the state of Ohio for Physical Education.  Data collected will be reported to the state of Ohio annually regarding meeting the standards.

    Weight Training & Sports Training

     

         Weight Training is an elective class offered to all Students.  Sports Training is an elective class offered only to those who participate in a Varsity Sport.  We lift 4 days a week and perform some sort of cardiovascular exercise and/or alternative lifting routine every Wednesday.  This class is for those students who are trying to become stronger and want to better their physical appearance and get in better shape. 

         Weight lifting is essential for all athletes if they want to be able to compete against their peers from other schools.  I encourage any student athlete to take my strength and endurance class.  Students will be evaluated on the 6 NASPE standards that have been adopted by the state of Ohio for Physical Education.  Data collected will be reported to the state of Ohio annually regarding meeting the standards.

     Indoor Cycling
     
       The Indoor Cycling Class is designed for the student who wishes to focus on their cardiovascular conditioning and strength training.  Students will become educated in zone training and how to train with their heart rates.  They will also learn how to fit a bike properly in order to prevent common injuries.  Students will keep daily journals on moodle, which contain general questions regarding the ride of the day and their daily habits.  Students will also design and lead the class in several rides throughout the semester.  The final exam consists of an 80 minute ride that must be completed. 
     
     
     
     

    Team Sports & Lifetime Recreation

     

    The Team Sports Class is designed for those students who want to be competitive in many different sports and activities.  Students should already have basic physical education skills and general knowledge of sports and games.  Be prepared to compete and coach each other every day.  Students will be evaluated on the 6 NASPE standards that have been adopted by the state of Ohio for Physical Education.  Data collected will be reported to the state of Ohio annually regarding meeting the standards.

    The Lifetime Recreation class is designed for those individuals who want to learn about various games and activities that they can participate in during or after their athletic careers.  Many of the activities we do are great for exercise and staying physically fit.  Some examples of games and activities are - Softball, Tennis, Golf, Frisbee, Horse shoes, Bocci Ball, Cornhole, Crochet, Badminton, Pickleball, Volleyball.
    Students are expected to come to class ready to participate daily in whatever activity is planned.  We will also discuss current events in the athletic world daily. Students will be evaluated on the 6 NASPE standards that have been adopted by the state of Ohio for Physical Education.  Data collected will be reported to the state of Ohio annually regarding meeting the standards.
    We will possibly be going on field trips around the community to participate in various activities.
