Intra-District Transfer Information
Intra-District Transfer Form Information for Families
Parents who wish to have their children attend a school other than their assigned home school within the district must submit a written request to the Assistant Superintendent by completing the Intra-District Transfer Application Form by April 2, 2026.
You do not need to submit a form for a child previously approved for Intradistrict Transfer—we will automatically assume they will remain at their current school. However, if you would like a sibling to join them, you must complete a form for that child.
All requests will be considered in the order in which they are received. The Intra-District Transfer Application Form will be available beginning February 25, 2026-April 2, 2026. The number of spaces available in each grade level and school building will be determined by adopted class size limits, enrollment disparities, programming, classroom availability, staffing, and the collective bargaining agreement. When all other factors are equal, applications will be accepted based on the date submitted.
Please note that the district reserves the right to revoke Intra-District Transfer approvals if enrollment projections change or class sizes become too large to accommodate non-home-school students. Revocations will occur in reverse order of approval, last approved, first revoked. Families will be notified in writing by the Assistant Superintendent.
The district will not approve a request if it would result in increased expenditures for staff, supplies, or equipment.
Parents are responsible for providing transportation for students approved for Intra-District Open Enrollment. Exceptions may be made for students with documented special needs.
Written notification regarding approval or denial of Intra-District Transfer requests will be provided by the Assistant Superintendent once staffing levels and enrollment projections are finalized. Families can expect notification in early June.
Applications for Intra-District Open Enrollment close on April 2, 2026.
Non-Discrimination and Special Education Considerations
The district shall not discriminate against disabled, non-home-school students under IDEA or Section 504. If a home-school student becomes disabled or is identified as requiring special education services, appropriate services will be provided, but not necessarily at the school of attendance. If reasonable accommodations cannot be made at the requested school, parents must agree prior to enrollment that the student will attend the district school where required services are available.
Applications may also be denied if a student has been suspended or expelled for ten consecutive school days or more during the semester of application or the preceding semester.
Families with questions or concerns regarding Intra-District Transfer may contact the Assistant Superintendent at (216) 898-8300.
