Chromebook insurance exclusions

Per the 1:1 Device Handbook and User Agreement , the following items are not covered:

  • Device charger, unless included in theft or fire
  • Intentional damage, tampering, or device modification
  • False information in any damage report
  • Failure to report known damage on the next scheduled school day
  • Negligence, including leaving a Chromebook unattended, or damage caused by food, drinks, or liquids
  • Loss or damage resulting from fraudulent, intentional, or criminal acts

Student Device Use and Testing

Students may use any device at home to access schoolwork. District-issued Chromebooks are required for state testing.

Chromebook Updates

If the Chromebook does not update automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your Chromebook.
  2. Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
  3. Select the time at the bottom right.
  4. Open Settings.
  5. In the left panel, select About ChromeOS.
  6. Under Google ChromeOS, find your current version.
  7. Select Check for updates.
  8. If an update is available, it will download automatically.
