Non - Public Student Transportation Request Information

The Berea City School District (BCSD) is required under Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 3301-83-11 to provide transportation services, when eligible, for students attending parochial, charter, and private schools.

Families wishing to request transportation must begin by submitting a Non-Public School Transportation Request. All requests are reviewed to determine student eligibility in accordance with OAC 3301-83-11.

Once a request is received, the District will evaluate transportation needs and eligibility and will make final transportation determinations no later than 30 days prior to the start of the school year. During the school year, transportation requests will be reviewed and processed within 14 days of student registration, based on routing and operational considerations.

Based on eligibility, routing, and operational considerations, transportation may be provided in one of the following ways:

  • Transportation provided by BCSD school buses
  • Transportation provided through an outside contracted service
  • Payment in lieu of transportation, when applicable
  • Transportation provided via public transportation, when appropriate

Eligibility for transportation services must first be established in accordance with OAC 3301-83-11 prior to assignment of any transportation option.

All families must complete the transportation request/registration process annually for each student to ensure accurate routing and updated information.
