  • Meal Options

    Breakfast is $1.25. There is no charge for reduced-priced breakfast this year. Breakfast is available in all buildings. Breakfast consist of a whole grain item, fruit, and milk. All students must take the fruit.

    The current lunch prices are: Kindergarten–Grade 4 - $2.20; and Grades 5-12 - $2.50. There is no charge for reduced-priced lunch this year. Lunch consists of an entrée, fruit, veggie, whole grain item, and milk. All students must take a fruit or veggie.

    Meals may be pre-paid by check, cash in the lunch line, or online with a credit card using the Mealtime Online site. There is a minimum deposit required to use the credit card option, and it loads to your student’s account in 5 minutes. There is no charge for using the online feature.     You may view your child’s account online at no charge. Students are told when their account balance is at $7.50 or less in grades 5-12 and $6.60 in K-4. K-4 students receive a green star stamp on their hand if the account is low.

    The Berea City School District will gladly accept your check. When you provide a check as payment, you authorize the district to either use information from the check to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction. You also authorize the district to collect a fee through an electronic fund transfer from your account if your payment is returned unpaid. Checks must include the following information on your check:

    • Full Name
    • Street Address
    • Phone Numbers
    • Child’s name and PIN number

    Free/Reduced Meals

    Some families may qualify for free/reduced-priced meals. The 2017-18 application will be available in early August.  Applications may be submitted at any time throughout the school year.

    First-time users will need to set up a user name and password. You will need your child’s PIN number.

    Charging

    Students who don’t have money for their lunch will be allowed to charge 2 lunches in grades K-4 and 1 lunch in grades 5-12. Charges are to be paid back the next day. Outstanding charges may be added to the student’s fee statement. 

    Students who are may not charge because they have not paid back their charges will be provided a gratis meal of milk or juice and PB and J or cereal granola bar at no charge. Students who abuse the privilege of receiving a gratis meal parents will be contacted. 

    There is no charging allowed for breakfast.
