Berea-Midpark High School Earns Recognition on 2023 AP School Honor Roll
Berea-Midpark High School has earned a spot on the 2023 Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll. This recognition is awarded by College Board to schools that expand access to AP coursework while simultaneously maintaining or improving AP Exam performance.
Berea-Midpark High School is one of over 4,500 schools across the United States and Canada that earned recognition on the 2023 AP Honor Roll. Schools are honored at one of four levels based on their AP access and student performance on AP exams: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Berea-Midpark High School earned Bronze recognition.
To make the Honor Roll, Berea-Midpark had to, first and foremost, increase access to AP coursework while simultaneously maintaining or improving AP exam performance. Schools must also meet state-determined benchmarks for expanding AP access to underrepresented student groups.
AP courses allow students to take college-level coursework while still in high school. Students can earn college credit and placement by scoring well on end-of-course AP exams. More than 3,300 universities worldwide recognize AP scores for credit and placement.
"We are thrilled to be recognized by the College Board for our efforts as it is a testament to the hard work of our students and the dedication of our teachers," said Principal Dr. Mark Smithberger. "Offering more students the chance to engage in college-level work while in high school better prepares them for higher education and beyond."
Earning a spot on the AP Honor Roll highlights Berea-Midpark High School's commitment to preparing students for success. Berea-Midpark High School is one of only 130 high schools in Ohio to earn recognition.
